Flight Attendants Dance to Lady Gaga

Flight attendants for Cebu Pacific Air have turned the preflight safety demonstration into a pop music party with a little help from Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Instead of the standard spiel about emergency exits and smoking in the lavatories, video captured by a passenger aboard a flight on the Philippine carrier shows a troupe of flight attendants sashaying their way down the aisle to the sound of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance."

The cabin crew struts its stuff and dances with props including seat belts, flotation devices and oxygen masks while a prerecorded voice narrates the safety instructions.

The presentation might be more entertaining than the in-flight movie, but that doesn't mean Cebu thinks spectacle is more important than safety, said Candice Lyog, the airline's vice president for marketing and distribution.

"We do not compromise safety in anything we do, and it will remain our primary concern. We just really know how to have fun too," Lyog told CNN.com. "The safety demo dance rendition is just another way to bring out our fun culture and showcase our homegrown talents. We plan to roll this out onto more flights after receiving great commendations from the global public."
